Elton John

As he appeared at The Wedding.

Elton John?  Maybe.  Or did I draw Doc Oc?

The Big Kiss

Pushin' it pretty late in the day again!  Might as well just do a quick sketch of the day's big story.  (Well, it was a pretty quick sketch, until I decided to add a splash of color.)

So what was the big story on 4/29/11?  A couple kids got married over in England.

Cherub Four

Hmm.  Not a huge fan of this one (the drawing, that is).  He looks to be some kind of architect or something.  He's holding a compass, and a sort of carpenter's square.  At least we can say that he's some kind of technical artist.  Nice planning not leaving enough room for the foot by the way.  Nice touch...  Amateur.

Cherub Two

This next little fellow is obviously a painter.

Cherub One

I've recently taken to walking around the grounds at the Saratoga Springs Resort at Walt Disney World when I want to enjoy the nice weather.  Every once in a while, you'll come across these little alcoves with statues in them.  In one such alcove, there are four little cherub-types, each seeming to depict a different skill or craft.  I have a feeling that if I were a better student of art history, I might recognize these as recreations of some more famous statues.  But who knows, maybe some imagineer was inspired to carve these as original creations.  Either way, it's one of those nice Disney touches - going that extra little step.

This one seems to be some kind of sculptor himself, since he's holding a hammer and chisel.

Englandishy

Well, it was already 11:00 at night when I started this one, but I didn't want to break my sketch-a-day streak so soon, so I whipped this out pretty quick.  It's a sketch from a photo posted on ImagineeringDisney.com tonight - though totally out of proportion.  I think these buildings are in England in Epcot.  Must sleep now.

Bear with me

The real reason I had the Preston Blair book out.  I needed a bear character for a birthday card.

How Much Is That Dog

Some Preston Blair doggies...

Nixon edit

There, that's a little better...  That's the one of the beauties of working digitally - the ability to move stuff around on the paper.

Tricky Dick

Just watched a TV show called "Watergate Plus 30".  I think I'm sorta starting to get what was going on back then.  This is supposed to be President Nixon.  I think I overdid the cheek/jowl area a little, and I think I wish the fingers were a bit wider, but not too terrible overall.
